Keith Orahood, USPTA teaching professional, has been with brother Kirk at JSerra for 14 years. After Edison High School, Keith continued to play both football and tennis at Golden West Jr. College, while coaching an age group swim team in Fountain Valley.
Following a brief but fun semester at TCU, he transferred to CSU-Fullerton, specializing in exercise physiology, human motor learning, and biomechanics. It was during this time he met and worked with Vic Braden at Coto de Caza, before taking the tennis director / head pro position at the new Ridgeline Country Club in east Orange County, after graduating from CSUF.
Both Dr. Michael Yessis (CSUF) and Vic Braden made a big impression on Keith, using lots of film study to analyze sports movement and technique through the science of biomechanics. These mentors and experiences are the keystones to his ability to analyze, correct and encourage proper stroke technique on the courts, delivered in a fun and relaxed manner.
Keith lives in San Clemente with wife, Myra, daughter and son-in-law Brittany and Joshua, and grandchildren, Dorian and Amoret (active members of KO’s T3Tennis) and their golden retriever, Winifred. On “off” time, Keith enjoys the beach, reading and experimenting with his Traeger (smoker) grill.
